Fertility Assessment or Fertility Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment to find out the reason why you have difficulty in getting pregnant. Under this assessment, you and your partner will undergo a series of tests to evaluate your reproductive health. Although different company offer different services, generally it normally includes:-
- Medical History Review
Review includes lifestyle, medical history, previous reproductive experience, birth defect in your family history, and etc. - Semen Analysis
Assess male fertility ability includes sperm count, sperm quality and health. - Abdominal Scan & Pelvic Ultrasound Scan
This is to check the potential number of eggs, identify scarring, fibroid or other factors that may keep women from conceiving. - Blood test
Female – Use to measure thyroid, FSH, LH, AMH, prolactin testosterone and other androgens (male hormones) for a female patient.
Male – use to measure level of male reproductive hormones. - HYCOSY – Hysterosalpingo Contrast Sonography
Investigation of fallopian tubes if there is any damage or blockage. - Pap smear
Also refer as Pap test. Commonly use to test for cervical cancer in women.
Of course, with more test you take, it will cost you more than others, but at the same time will give you more accurate info.
