Eggs are then been transfer and fertilised with sperm in a laboratory dish. If the fertilisation is successful, embryo will be formed and grow for 3 to 5 days and then to be transfer to mother’s womb.

When to consider IVF?

Since IVF is a infertility treatment, it’s best suit when you and your partner has specific conditions:-

  • Problem with fallopian tube (damage or blockage)
  • Ovulation disorder like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Low sperm count
  • Endometriosis
  • Sterilisation has been done before
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Genetics disorder
  • Unexplained infertility

However, women who do not have functional uterus or incapable of implanting and carrying a pregnancy, IVF cannot solve that problem.
